Flu
Few of us can be unaware of the number of people
suffering from swine flu and the anxiety involved. In order to avoid spreading
the virus, and particularly to those most vulnerable - the elderly, children,
and those with health problems - the Bishop has asked all parishes to introduce
the following, hopefully temporary, measures.

Holy Communion will be administered in one kind
only, and on the hand.

The
Peace will have to be shared in a non-tactile way, either by a short bow, or
nod of the head, or a smile.
These
are practical steps. None of us will benefit from being unnecessary alarmist.
God is at work to heal and we will not be helping him by taking unnecessary
risks.
