LETTING CONDITIONS
● The hirer must state the purpose for which the Centre is to be used during the letting period.
● The hire period must cover the full time required within the Centre, including preparation and clearing up time. Hire periods must end not later than 11.00 pm.
● The hirer must ensure that no environmental disturbance or nuisance is caused by the use of the Centre during the letting period. Particular attention must be paid to noise levels, especially when doors or windows are open.
● The hirer must become familiarised with the safety and security arrangements of the Centre, including the location of emergency exits and fire extinguishers. Emergency exits have illuminated green ‘running man’ signs above them, and must not be locked or obstructed in any way during the letting period.
● The facilities must be left in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the letting period, chairs and tables stacked in accordance with instructions displayed on the storeroom door. Arrangements can sometimes be made for staff to clear up, but this can only be done-by prior arrangement when required, on advance payment of a special cleaning charge.
● The hire charge includes provision of heating and lighting, and also of gas and hot water in the kitchen when hired. The heating may be switched on by pressing the red button on the side of the boiler clock in the boiler room. Individual heaters in the main hall may be switched on or off by the switch beside each. No other adjustment to the heating system controls is permitted.
● No furniture, equipment, materials or other articles can be stored in the Centre before or after the letting period without prior permission.
● The Parish Centre is not licensed for the sale of alcoholic drinks. These may be provided by the hirer for consumption with food during the letting period, but no alcoholic drink can be offered for sale on the premises.
● The Management Committee reserve the right to recover from the hirer the cost of repairing or replacing any Parish Centre furniture, fixture or fitting stolen or damaged otherwise than by normal wear and tear during the letting period.
● Keys will be supplied for gaining admission to the Centre at the start of the letting period, and for securing the premises at the end of the period. The keys must be collected from the Parish Office during opening hours, and returned in accordance with the instructions given to the hirer. The hirer must ensure that they are kept securely and not used for any other purpose.
● The hirer must ensure that articles or equipment such as lighted candies, slide or film projectors, tape recorders or amplifiers, etc., are used safely during the letting period, and do not cause damage to the Centre or its contents.
● No responsibility will be accepted by the Parish Centre Management Committee for loss or damage to personal effects, articles or equipment brought into the Centre by any one in connection with the hiring.
● The completed hiring application form must include the name of any outside caterers who may be employed.
