St. Mary's Tuesday Prayer & Praise Service

The Tuesday evening informal "Prayer & Praise Service" takes place at 7.30pm every Tuesday, except for short breaks for the Summer, Christmas and Easter holiday periods.  It currently attracts a congregation of 25 - 35.

The "Tuesday Service" is centred on joyful, sincere, lively worship, with a focus on the presence and leadership of the Holy Spirit.  An OHP and screen are used instead of books, and the clergy do not robe.  Apart from modern worship music, the service also contains a Bible reading, a short teaching talk, prayer, and a time of quiet for reflection, followed by an opportunity to stay for coffee in church.    Holy Communion is included once a term.

The Bible readings follow a particular teaching theme for a 'term' at a time; details of the current theme and programme can be seen by clicking here.

The service includes Common Worship prayers, intercession by members of the congregation, and the laying on of hands by a trained Ministry Team for those who want to receive it.

There are opportunities for members of the congregation to be actively involved in the service, e.g. in the Music Group, the Singing Group, as OHP operators, rigging teams, intercessors and lesson readers, Ministry Team, and coffee team.
